The mezzo-soprano's lament: always the sorceress, never the heroine; always the bitch, never the ingénue; always a boy.... Featuring mezzo-soprano Katherine Fili and pianist Thomas Hunter, this recital explores the roles into which mezzos have been typecast throughout opera history. The music will include classic hits and arias from lesser known works. Also featured will be arias from DC based opera composers Michael Oberhauser and Matthew Arling Samson.
